Loaves and Fishes

Loaves and Fishes is a nonprofit meal program in Minnesota, serving hot meals to those in need. In 2013, they served over 350,000 nutritious meals.  Mizpah UCC serves once a month.

The Loaves and Fishes vision is that all people, regardless of socioeconomic, cultural or ethnic background deserve to meet their basic needs for food, dignity and respect. It is only then that self-esteem and empowerment can move individuals to independence.

Mizpah UCC serves once a month and recently celebrated our 30th year of service in participation with this organization.

Join us the fourth Monday of each month.  For more information, see the Loaves and Fishes site, or email us

Clothes Together

The fourth Tuesday of each month we pay for those in need to do their laundry, including the detergent!  We know that for some members of the community, this is a great help.  It's hard to go to school or get an interview without clean clothes.

Join us (or volunteer or donate!) at MegaWave Coin Laundry in Hopkins.  For more information, email us.

ResourceWest, a responsive community-based organization, assists people and strengthens the west metro community through collaborative programs and connections to resources.

Its services focus on stabilizing households by addressing basic needs; and supporting households in making changes that will lead to self-sufficiency. They work with clients to overcome challenges in obtaining housing or  employment.

Mizpah UCC has been a long-time partner with ResourceWest in fund-raising and obtaining winter clothing and school supplies for them.

For more information, see Resource West's website, or email us.

ICA - Foodshelf

ICA, Intercongregation Communities Association, has been in existence for 40 years. Their clients are your neighbors who find themselves struggling to make ends meet.  Most clients work, but do not make enough money to cover the basic needs of their families.  The ICA offers food, employment assistance and financial assistance.

Mizpah has been a long-time supporter and participant in this vital mission in the SW Suburbs.

For more information, see the ICA website, or email us.
